Craig Penny Exhibition - Redsea Gallery
Ocean to Outback by Craig Penny is the current exhibition at Redsea Gallery, James Street, Fortitude Valley.
I stumbled across this stunning exhibition when I recently dropped into Redsea Gallery. Having never seen Craig Penny's work before, I instantly fell in love with his style, his choice of colours and the peaceful tone of his work.
This current exhibition features an assortment of paintings following Penny’s journey from the quiet coastal regions of Queensland thru the Murray River to the busy streets of Melbourne.
Penny draws upon our surrounding landscapes in a way that offers refuge from our busy lives. This collection invites you to bask in vibrant river boats and tumble into the metropolis of a sundrenched Australian life.
Mesmerising blue hues that are so beautifully captured by Penny in both sky and sea, emit to me a serene sense of peace and tranquility and as so eloquently worded by Redsea Galley "his free-form techniques capture tranquil scenes, leaving us to scrunch our toes in the sand or gaze into our beloved Brisbane and Melbourne cityscapes".
See this stunning collection for yourself from February 7 to March 5, 2017.

With thanks to Redsea Gallery for their permission to take photographs for this post. Unfortunately my photos were not of a quality good enough to pay justice to Craig Penny's beautiful work. Images used are reproduced from the Redsea Gallery website.
