Winter holiday

Friday flashback to vintage Brisbane of 1934 and this fabulous poster promoting Brisbane as a winter tourist destination. The poster includes a depiction of the Old Windmill, Brisbane River and a poinsettia - the floral emblem of Brisbane.

Percival Albert Trompf (1902-1964) is the artist responsible for creating this tourism poster and is credited with creating many of the tourism posters at Queensland State Archives. You can view this poster for yourself at the Museum of Brisbane located in Brisbane City Hall.
