Escape Brisbane to Noosa and feel Alive!
Need to escape Brisbane? Need to feel the sand between your toes, be immersed in the arts and indulge in great food from top restaurants? Then head to Noosa Heads from 21 to 30 July for Noosa Alive!, a 10 day and night event of music, theatre, food and thought! Need more convincing? Here are my 5 reasons to run away to Noosa and experience Noosa Alive!
1. See Naomi Price in Lady Beatle
Australian star of stage and screen and 2017 Festival Ambassador, Naomi Price will star in her fabulous new show, Lady Beatle. This play pays tribute to the music of the Beatles and centres around the women behind great songs such as Eleanor Rigby, Lady Madonna and Penny Lane.
Saturday, 29th July 2017 3:00pm - 4:20pm and 8.00pm - 9.20pm, further details here.
2. Experience dance with the Queensland Ballet
Queensland Ballet will present a program of dance including classical, contemporary and neo-classical ballet performed by Queensland Ballet dancers and Jette Parker Young Artists. This exciting program includes Glass Heart, A classical pas de deux, ‘In-Conversation’ with Queensland Ballet Artistic Director Li Cunxin and Baroque Beatles a neo-classical work inspired by the unusual arrangements and interpretations of songs of The Beatles set in the Baroque style of music.
Saturday 22 July 2.30pm and 7.30pm, further details here.
3. Be transported to Broadway on the Beach
The Queensland Session Orchestra will play Musicals of the 20th Century in a journey through the golden age of musical film and theatre in this one-off spectacular Cabaret performance on Noosa Heads Main Beach. Enjoy music from Gershwin, Rodgers and Hammerstein, Gilbert and Sullivan and Porter.
Thursday 27 July from 5.00pm, further details here.
4. Fall in love with the magnificent location
Think gentle waves, beautiful blue water and soft sand you're there at Noosa Heads main beach. Walk along the beach and enjoy the sounds of the waves or perhaps pack your swimmers and take a dip, if the water temperature is to your liking. If swimming isn't your thing then be sure to pack your sandshoes and take a walk thru the Noosa National Park. Follow the boardwalk from Noosa Main Beach into Noosa National Park and along the way keep an eye out for dolphins or you may be lucky and spot a koala in the trees.
5. Dine at some of the best restaurants in Queensland
Noosa Heads is renowned for its award-winning dining. Located on the doorstep of an abundance of fresh and local produce there is a cuisine for all tastes. Eat beachfront, Hastings street, hinterland or beachside village or perhaps try my favourite restaurant, Bistro C, but here's a tip - book.
While I'm heading to Noosa Alive! this weekend, the festival is on for 10 days. Book now as tickets are selling fast. Let me know what you are planning to attend.
