Hello

Welcome to the Lady Brisbane blog. I share Brisbane thru my iPhone photos. Enjoy.

Time to bake (or buy) your Christmas cake

Time to bake (or buy) your Christmas cake

Traditionally a Christmas cake is baked 4-6 weeks before December 25 but not all of us enjoy baking and for those of us we can thankfully rely on the professionals.

Baking a Christmas cake to some is a family tradition that many bakers enjoy, a ritual started weeks in advance where the cake is baked, drenched in brandy, wrapped and stored ready for that special day in December.

If you have a recipe that has been handed down for generations, that you use each year, how wonderful, I’d love to taste a piece of your Christmas cake. For those without a special recipe or looking for a different flavour I have included a few recipe links below.

If you prefer to leave your Christmas cake baking to the professionals, then I can highly recommend Shingle Inn for all your festive treats, Cake & Bake and Cake Kiosk.

Whether you bake or buy your Christmas cake this year the Christmas cake will always be the star of the festive table.
