Brisbane Open House 2018
Brisbane Open House (BOH) 2018 launched today at the Tivoli Theatre and this year there are 114 buildings to explore and more than 50 events and walking tours throughout the weekend of 13 and 14 October.
Brisbane Open House is a free event, providing visitors with the rare opportunity to discover a wealth of architecturally diverse, well-designed and historic buildings in Brisbane. The weekend event showcases over 114 buildings of historic and modern architectural importance.
This year’s program promises to unlock inspiring and exciting new buildings including:
Award-winning Anglican Church Grammar School (Churchie);
Government Printery Office;
Mt Crosby Pumping Station; and
The Tivoli; as well returning favourites:
Brisbane City Hall;
Spring Hill Baths;
Peters Ice Cream Factory;
Archerfield Airport, and many more.
BOH will also showcase Brisbane’s rich cultural and creative roots, showcasing a variety of events, from concerts to local designer-led workshops to walking tours and the annual Speaker Series.
The Speaker Series invites Brisbane to join architects, designers, planners and professionals in conversation - exploring what influences the shape, experiences and growth of our city and its buildings.
This year the festival will include ‘BOH After Dark’, a series of events inviting the public to experience the city in a different light along with conversations and activities held in an assortment of ‘after dark’ locations.
If there is a building in Brisbane that you have always wanted to peek inside you have the perfect opportunity on the weekend of October 13 and 14.
